Education Professional Standards Board

The mission of Kentucky’s Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) is to promote high levels of student achievement by establishing and enforcing rigorous professional standards for preparation, certification, and responsible and ethical behavior of all professional educators in Kentucky.

The board shall apply to all its initiatives the APPLE criteria as established by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS):

A = administratively feasible
P = professionally credible
P = publicly understandable
L = legally defensible
E = economically affordable
